One of the guiding principles here at FGTL is to “avoid paying full price” so I want to regularly share websites to save money. NBC News recently featured two that I want to share today.
www.saveonmedical.com – Now you can search for discount medical services similar to shopping for hotels and airlines. Here you can search for medical providers in your area, see consumer ratings, and pick one with a reduced price. In March 2016, two services were available, Radiology and Surgery. Pharmacies and Labs were promised to come soon. It’s free to use, and you get reduced prices because medical providers use the site to sell their unused capacity, “it’s better to get something than nothing”. It’s perfect for people who will be paying out-of-pocket such as with uninsured, a high-deductible, or HSA’s.
https://paribus.co/ – Many retailers will refund you the difference if the price drops on a recent purchase, but you have to ask for it. How many of us can monitor even a portion of our online purchases? Well Paribus will do it for you and get your refund, for up to 25% of your savings. Paribus scans receipts sent to your email and monitors price drops. Unfortunately, it seems to primarily work with gmail, yahoo mail, and Outlook, but not with my email provider. Still, it could net you some cash back with little work.
Check back often for more websites to save you money.
