Apps and Websites to Save You Money

One of the Financial Guide To Life’s basic financial principles is to “avoid paying full price”.  One of my recurring themes will be providing you websites and apps to save you money.  There are so many ways to save money with web shopping.  One of these days, I’ll pull them all together on a cool links page.

Websites To Save You Money

Price comparison websites show you lower prices on products you are viewing.

http://www.shopgeniusapp.com/ – This Chrome add-on shows product price comparisons, coupons, and reviews automatically while you shop online.

https://www.servicesonline.opm.gov/ – Another browser add-on that alerts you when it finds lower prices on items you are viewing.

http://www.priceblink.com/Priceblink has coupons, but even better is the browser add-on that automatically shows you price comparisons when you shop for specific products.

Websites to search for coupon codes to get discounts at some online stores.

http://www.chippmunk.com – One of many sites to search for coupon codes.

https://www.livingsocial.com/coupons – You probably know that LivingSocial is a great place to get local discounts both at home and when you travel, but note that it also offers coupon codes.  I like LivingSocial better than Groupon because LivingSocial will offer you credit back when you can’t use one of their deals you bought.

These websites offer browser extensions to apply coupon codes to your shopping cart automatically without you searching.

Always compare prices before buying.

https://trackif.com/ – Alerts you to price changes on products you specify and shows a price history of products so you can decide to buy now or wait.  Bonus idea:  use this to notify you of price drops for retailers and credit cards that offer price matching and adjustments when prices drop.

These websites offer you rebates when you enter thru their website first.

http://www.ebates.com/ – Get their browser plugin to automatically show you when a website offers one of their rebates.

https://savingstar.com/coupons – Checkout their grocery rebates.

http://www.fatwallet.com/ – Fatwallet also shows you deals, coupons, blog posts, and more.

http://www.topcashback.com/ – Also has an app and other ways to save.

Credit cards such as Discover and organizations such as AAA and AARP have similar shopping portals to save you money.

Apps To Save You Money

http://www.flipp.com/ – View local sale flyers, mark them, and save to your phone.

http://www.favado.com/ – Tells you which local grocery and drug stores have the best prices on the items you seek.

http://stockup.co/ – Shows you which grocery stores have the best prices on your items.

Ultimate Guide to Couponing – Many resources for couponers.

Many of these websites offer multiple ways to save even if I have put them in a specific category.  This is not a comprehensive list, so I’ll highlight more in future posts.  Post your favorites in the comments section.
